Ritter Drilled & grooved Performance Brake discs are treated with an anti corrosion electro Galvanizing process, the none contact part of the disc (if not protected) rusts, flakes of rust then drop onto the contact surface of the disc causing scoring & pad wear.
The holes & slots remove dust and gas, (pads will out-gas which creates a boundary layer of gas between the pad and the disc, affecting the breaking affectiveness.)
The holes & slots also have a positive effect in wet conditions preventing water film building up between the disc and the pads.
The holes ensure maximum air circulation for increased cooling.
The holes are countersunk to increase surface area which prevents heat build up and provides added strength.
The slots de-glaze brake pads reducing brake fade.
The slots are formed in V shape at each end to stop brake debris forming.
The slots keep the pads soft and avoid vitrification of the surface.
